We are looking for current students that have finished their first or second year of PhD in the areas of life sciences. CEITEC will select the top students to spend a summer internship in Basel, Switzerland at the Novartis campus for 3 months in 2015. The program will teach students how working life is in a top pharmaceutical company, plus many soft skills to enhance the experience of developing scientists.

The latest Newsletter 2/2014 includes an interview with Lukáš Trantírek, in which he specifies three main reasons for choosing CEITEC after his stay in the Netherlands, and what could be an inspiration for the Czech Republic in the education strategy.

Pacientům s leukemií pomohou dva patenty z Lékařské fakulty Masarykovy univerzity v Brně (LF MU), které našly uplatnění v praxi v podobě nových testovacích sad. Jedna z nich umožní lékařům stanovit vývoj nejčastějšího typu leukemie u dospělých. Druhá má pomoci včas odhalit plicní onemocnění způsobené určitým druhem plísní především u pacientů po transplantaci kostní dřeně, řekla dnes novinářům Šárka Pospíšilová z Lékařské fakulty Masarykovy univerzity v Brně.

The EMBO Young Scientists Forum organized by CEITEC research group leaders Dr. Štěpánka Vaňáčová (RNA Quality Control research group) and Dr. Richard Štefl (Structural Biology of Gene Regulation research group) was held at the University Campus Bohunice on May 29-30, 2014. The meeting provided the opportunity to our PhD students and post docs to interact with European most promising young scientists, members of the EMBO Young Investigator Programme, and motivate them to pursue their career and education in the life sciences.

On May 15, the conference on “Integrated Approaches to Structural Biology” was held in Augustinian Abbey in Brno.
