The first CEITEC PhD retreat will bring together 100 postgraduate students in the fields of life sciences, material sciences and physics. It will give them the opportunity to discuss their research and possible collaboration in very friendly environment and listen to talks by 10 internationally recognized speakers. The speakers have been chosen in such a way, that their talks should be interesting for life and material scientists alike. The talks will be divided into the following topics:
- Physics in biomedicine
- Novel materials
- Molecular medicine
- Biosensing
- Plant biology
- Off-topic

The participation on the retreat, including bus transfer from Brno to Valtice, meals and accommodation are free of charge for all master or postgraduate students who will present their research as a poster. The posters should be printed in A1 format (594 × 841 mm) in portrait orientation. Additionally, some of the students will be offered the opportunity to introduce their research as a short talk. The participants’ abstracts will be included in the book of abstracts with an ISBN assigned. Therefore, the students are kindly asked not to submit abstracts which have already been published elsewhere.
All students have to register by the April 10, 2015 and submit an abstract of up to 250 words. Abstracts should be submitted in the .docx format using the provided template. Please note that the number of places is limited to 100 students and the registration will be closed once the capacity is filled.
The event will take place in a beautiful 17th century South Moravian chateau in Valtice. The Valtice area is one of the Czech Republic’s most famous and most beautiful wine regions. Other practical information regarding accommodation, departure from Brno will be posted on this website and also sent to the registered participants by e-mail one month before the event.
