We are delighted to invite you to the internal CEITEC Christmas Workshop 2013!

Among others, this time you can look forward to lectures delivered by two top young CEITEC scientists:
- Pavel Plevka (Structural Virology), who focuses on the study of molecular structure of human picornaviruses, viruses contributing to the exacerbation of Leishmaniasis disease symptoms, and viruses contributing to the collapse of honeybee colonies. Pavel is the very first ERC “Starting Grants” recipient at CEITEC.
- Dmitriy Chudakov (Adaptive Immunity), who is one of the world’s leading specialists in the development and practical use of fluorescent proteins and toolkits based on them. His protein marker Katushka (TurboFP635) is the best existing marker for the visualisation of objects inside living tissues.
Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to hear our special guest, Petr Cígler, from Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry AS CR, v.v.i. Petr studies new types of nanoparticles for use in therapeutics, imaging and diagnostics of diseases. His lecture will be entitled “Fluorescent nanodiamonds as probes and future sensors with unlimited photostability“.
Of course, you will also hear about what’s new at CEITEC. Interesting lectures and presentations will be followed by an informal get-together with music. The detailed programme of the event can be found HERE.
