It is a great pleasure to announce that the 15th European Congress on Clinical Neurophysiology will be held from September 30 – October 3, 2015 in Brno, Czech Republic. The congress will be organized by the IFCN European Chapter and Czech Society for Clinical Neurophysiology. The congress will continue in the tradition of the successful European congresses, the last one was held in Rome in 2011. Our aim is to organize an open minded scientific and educative meeting that will attract a top-level faculty and large international audience. We would like to open the borders of the clinical neurophysiology in order to re-define the positions of our specialty in the changing world.
The Congress will be held in the city of Brno, where genetics was born (Gregor Mendel lived and worked here). Present-day Brno is characterized by the exploding universities and research institutes. The proportion of 80 000 university students to 400 000 inhabitants makes Brno a living and joyful young town, despite its historical monuments. The new research laboratories like the Central European Institute of Technology (www.ceitec.eu) with its Brain and Mind Neuroscience Research Program are being built up with the help of the European Union. Several UNESCO heritage sites are located close to Brno, one of them the luxurious Bauhaus style Villa Tugendhat, built by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1929, is located in the town.
Last but not least – Brno has not only a rich cultural life but is also a center of the best Czech (Moravian) wine producing region.
